North County Panthers Pop Warner

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is proud to have donated money towards new equipment.

  • North County Panthers Pop Warner is a nonprofit organization that supports an amazing group of enthusiastic children from Winchendon, Templeton, Rindge, Gardner, Jaffrey, and surrounding towns. The program encompasses youth football and cheerleading. Players consist of children ages 5 through 14 and this upcoming season they are expecting 175 players and cheerleaders. Merrimack Valley Food Bank's Annual Grape Expectations

  • The Merrimack Valley Food Bank (MVFB) is a community-supported organization that provides nutritious food and personal care items to emergency feeding programs serving the low-income, homeless and hungry. This evening includes an outstanding selection of wine, spirits, & brews, taste-tempting hors d’oeuvres and carving stations, 100+ silent auction items and special raffles, Fling the Ring wine bottle ring toss, and live entertainment. All proceeds benefit the MVFB’s programs to help community members access nutritious food.

  • The ABRHS Class of 2019 will host the 24th Annual Senior Community Service Day where 493 students will rake, paint, clean and garden all over the community.

Blessings in a Backpack/Karing 4 Kidz Celebrity Chili Cook Off

  • At the Third Annual Celebrity Chili Cook Off, guests will sample chili from Fitchburg's Mayor, Fire and Police Chiefs as well as city counselors then vote on the best one. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and proceeds support providing food insecure children a backpack of food for weekends when they are not at school.

Kentucky Derby Party: Champagne & Champions

  • Enjoy live music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, special Derby themed cocktails and complimentary champagne while we watch the live racing excitement from Churchill Downs during the 145th Run for the Roses. Purchase picks on the winning horses and take changes on fabulous raffle prizes. Walk the red carpet and compete in the ladies Best Hat or gentlemen's Best Dressed contests! Proceeds from this event will benefit the RecLinks Therapeutic Recreation Program, linking individuals with opportunities designed to promote health and wellness for people with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $100/each.

  • Minute Man Arc is a non-profit agency serving eastern Massachusetts committed to enhancing the lives of children and adults with disabilities. Join more than 500 participants for a fun walk and celebration in Concord which raises awareness and funds for the organization.

Lowell General Hospital Team Walk 20 for Cancer Care

  • TeamWalk for CancerCare raises funds to support the Lowell General Hospital's Cancer Center’s services for patients and their families. These funds make a difference in the lives of today’s cancer patients by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs and prostheses, support groups, skilled nursing visits, transportation, mini-grants, and supportive services to patients of all cancer types. Funds raised enable Lowell General Hospital to provide assistance, support, and services to help people feel better, build confidence and instill hope throughout their battle with cancer. Our Chelmsford Branch team is proud to walk in memory of Nicole Gaudreau.

Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation Charity Golf Tournament

  • The 27th Annual CdLS Foundation New England Golf Tournament takes place at the Ipswich Country Club, a championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones in Ipswich, MA. Participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf, breakfast, lunch, and an opportunity to win both skill and door prizes. This golf event benefits individuals with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS), a genetic syndrome that is often disabling and causes individuals to struggle to walk, talk and eat. There is no cure for CdLS.

Friends Never Forget 3rd Annual Gold Star Memorial BBQ

The event is an old-school family cook out with sack races, touch a truck, kid’s crafts, relay races, music, food and more!

Lowell Transitional Living Center's Steps to Home Walk and Ice Cream Social

  • Eighth Annual Steps to Home Walk to End Homelessness features a beautiful tree lined, cobblestone streets of Lowell and an ice cream social on the 5th floor of Mill No. 5. The walk starts and ends right outside Mill No. 5 on 250 Jackson Street. Businesses, community groups, faith-based organizations, citizens and friends of Lowell transitional Living Center (LTLC) come together at Steps to Home to raise funds through LTLC’s largest event of the year. Lowell Transitional Living Center offers much more than meals and a place to sleep. The walk will help raise awareness of their programs and services like case management, healthcare, housing, mental wellness, and financial management.

Bicycles Battling Cancer

  • Bicycles Battling Cancer will be an incredible day as cyclists and volunteers come together to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about reducing cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease. Consider donating to Helen and her team Biking Warriors.

St. Andrew's 4th Annual Benefit Concert and Gala Reception

  • St. Andrew’s is delighted to host the 4th Annual Benefit Concert and Gala at 3:00 pm on June 9 at Groton School’s beautiful St. John’s Chapel. The Amethyst Chamber Ensemble (Mary Sullivan, soprano; Joelle Morris, mezzo-soprano; John Poupore, viola; Scott Nicholas, piano) returns to the area with an inspired selection of music, from opera to spirituals, serious to humorous. Joining ACE will be Sarah Geller, violin; Will Prapestis, base baritone; and Heinrich Christensen, organ. Tickets at $25/Adult; $20/Senior or Student. Under 12 is free.

The Distinguished Citizen is chosen for his/her long standing commitment to our communities. Their efforts have helped improve the quality of life for thousands of people who are less fortunate. Their tireless leadership, energy and vitality have been a true inspiration to all who service within numerous charitable organizations. Juneteeth Celebration with New Hope Community Church

  • The Juneteenth Celebration will bring together the many cultures of Fitchburg and surrounding communities as we remember and celebrate our history and freedom from slavery as we enjoy family, food, fun, entertainment and vendors.
    The Juneteenth is a culturally diverse event, which celebrates the commemoration of the announcement of the abolishment of slavery. This year’s festival will include a variety of cultures from the community as they will be featured in dance, song, spoken word and an array of vendors. There will also be fun activities for children to include face painting, bounce house and obstacle course. Small food vendors such as hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones.

The feature concert by a 40 piece professional band accompanies the presentation of two Citizen of the Year awards on both the state & local level. The evening is capped off by a dazzling fireworks display. Admission is free.

UMass Memorial Foundation Cancer Walk & Run

  • Since 1999, thousands of people come together in September on the campus shared by UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial to show their commitment to the fight against cancer. The money raised supports adult and pediatric cancer research and care, and clinical trials of new potentially lifesaving therapies taking place right here in Central Massachusetts.Learn more.

Operation Service 9th Annual Trees for Troops

  • Operation Service is a local organization supporting the men, women and families of the US Military. Each year, the organization provides free Christmas trees through their partner, The Gardener’s Spot to US Military members (active and veteran). Approximately 600 trees will be given during the program.
