Fundamental Coverages in Most Condo Policies

Building Property Protection

This coverage provides protection for the interior of your unit including walls, fixtures, cabinets, built-in bookcases, floor covering and ceiling.

Personal Property

Anything in your condo unit that is not securely attached such as furniture, clothing, and electronics are considered “personal property”. Additional coverage may need to be considered for high-value items like jewelry, art, guns, and collections.

Personal Liability

Personal Liability pays for claims resulting from a third party being injured on your property.

Optional Coverages

There are many optional coverages that can be added to your policy to provide additional protection. These include:

• Scheduled Personal Property – additional coverage for property such as jewelry, gun collections, camera equipment, art, and other collections.
• Unit Assessment – reimbursement for your share of an assessment charged by the condo owner’s association.
