Workers Credit Union To Open New Branch in Lowell

LOWELL — Workers Credit Union is building a full-service community banking center on Middlesex Street on multiple parcels of land, including the property adjacent to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell.

“Workers Credit Union is making a long-term commitment to Lowell,” Chief of Growth Initiatives Mike Dubuque, who grew up in Lowell, said. “This new branch is about planting deeper roots and showing up for our members, our neighbors, local businesses, and the community organizations that make this city great.”

As part of the project, WCU will demolish a vacant annex building that sits on the property of the Boys & Girls Club, in support of the club’s $25 million “Believe & Become” campaign to renovate and expand its facility to serve twice as many youths. The new community banking center is expected to open in 2027.

“This collaboration with Workers Credit Union shows the power of partnerships to benefit whole communities,” Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Joe Hungler said. “Workers’ investment is part of a group effort that will support both Lowell youth and the broader community for years to come.”
