Arc of Opportunity: Take Me Out to the Ballgame

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud Grand Slam sponsor of this event.

  • Join The Arc of Opportunity as we celebrate our beloved Red Sox and fundraise for the Family Support Program! This program provides a variety of life-enhancing resources for individuals with disabilities and their families. This critical program receives very little government funding and relies on the generosity of donors and event participants to continue being a resource. Tickets are $15 and include 5 FREE raffle tickets for the coffee can raffle and entry for a chance to win the door prize of 4 day passes to Great Wolf Lodge! Also enjoy free ballpark snacks, beer tasting, games, music, and dancing. Beverages and additional raffle tickets will be available for sale. Free beer tasting from Westfield River Brewing, Wachusett Brewing Company, and River Styx Brewery is only for those over the age of 21 with proper ID.

Westford Parent Connection Speaker Series: Raising Kids You’ll Love To Live With

  • The Westford Parent Connection (WPC) understands that parenting – even in the best of times – can be challenging. For nearly 20 years, the WPC has offered a wide variety of parent education and enrichment programs for anyone who cares about the social and emotional development of young people. This event is with Bonnie Harris. For parents of students in grades K-6. Admission is free. View the entire 2018-19 series schedule.

Boys & Girls Club of Lunenburg: Are You Smarter Than Our 6th Graders

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is the Major Event Sponsor with employees and members of the Board of Directors participating in the game show.

  • The Boys & Girls Club of Lunenburg was created as a result of the need for a safe and constructive after-school program for Lunenburg youth. This concern about our youth arose after a survey taken in 1997 cited the need for a teen after-school program as a top priority for the community.

City of Leominster City Wide Clean Up

  • The City of Leominster is encouraging residents to clean up areas near their homes and public areas to beautify the City for the spring. The first 100 volunteers to visit City Hall will receive t-shirts.

Infant Toddler Children's Center Enchanted Forest

  • The Infant Toddler Children's Center (ITC) is a non-profit early education and care program located in Acton, MA. Proceeds from this one event raise over 80% of non-tuition based funds and are used to support ITC enrichment programs for children and teachers.

Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School (Monty Tech) Career Expo

  • WCU's Involvement: The WCU Human Resources department will be attending.

  • This is the first ever Career Expo at Monty Tech! Local businesses will be available to chat with students and community members about available job openings. Bring your current resume and dress professionally. This expo is free and open to the public.

North County Panthers Pop Warner

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is proud to have donated money towards new equipment.

  • North County Panthers Pop Warner is a nonprofit organization that supports an amazing group of enthusiastic children from Winchendon, Templeton, Rindge, Gardner, Jaffrey, and surrounding towns. The program encompasses youth football and cheerleading. Players consist of children ages 5 through 14 and this upcoming season they are expecting 175 players and cheerleaders. Merrimack Valley Food Bank's Annual Grape Expectations

  • The Merrimack Valley Food Bank (MVFB) is a community-supported organization that provides nutritious food and personal care items to emergency feeding programs serving the low-income, homeless and hungry. This evening includes an outstanding selection of wine, spirits, & brews, taste-tempting hors d’oeuvres and carving stations, 100+ silent auction items and special raffles, Fling the Ring wine bottle ring toss, and live entertainment. All proceeds benefit the MVFB’s programs to help community members access nutritious food.

Kentucky Derby Party: Champagne & Champions

  • Enjoy live music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, special Derby themed cocktails and complimentary champagne while we watch the live racing excitement from Churchill Downs during the 145th Run for the Roses. Purchase picks on the winning horses and take changes on fabulous raffle prizes. Walk the red carpet and compete in the ladies Best Hat or gentlemen's Best Dressed contests! Proceeds from this event will benefit the RecLinks Therapeutic Recreation Program, linking individuals with opportunities designed to promote health and wellness for people with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $100/each.

Friends Never Forget 3rd Annual Gold Star Memorial BBQ

  • The Third Annual Gold Star Memorial BBQ will honor the lives of fallen soldiers while raising funds for Operation Camp, a summer camp program for the children of fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen. The event is an old-school family cook out with sack races, touch a truck, kid’s crafts, relay races, music, food and more!

  • The Westminster Farmer’s Market has been operating for 10 years on the Westminster Common on Academy Hill. The goal of this Farmers’ Market is to support producers within our locale. We encourage locally grown and/or produced products.

Bicycles Battling Cancer

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor of Helene Palmer, employee of Workers Insurance Agency. She is a 5-year breast cancer survivor and this is her first 100 mile bike ride.

  • Bicycles Battling Cancer will be an incredible day as cyclists and volunteers come together to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about reducing cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease. Consider donating to Helen and her team Biking Warriors.

The American Legion 100th Celebration

  • The American Legion Glaudette-Kirk Post 138 of Spencer, MA is hosting a 100th Celebration for the end of World War I and the birth of the American Legion. The event will feature a grand parade, live music, entertainment, military static displays, vendor booth, food stations, games and more.

  • Starburst '19 is an evening of music and fireworks! The night consists of performances by the All City school concert band and chorus followed by a magician act for the kids. The feature concert by a 40 piece professional band accompanies the presentation of two Citizen of the Year awards on both the state & local level. The evening is capped off by a dazzling fireworks display. Admission is free.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre 40th Anniversary Gala

  • This special evening includes live music, a gourmet dinner, a special performance highlighting four decades of professional theatre in Lowell, silent and live auctions, and so much more. MRT's gala raises funds for our youth arts programming including free and discounted tickets for student matinees, our pre-professional training program, and student activities including: meet the artists, backstage tours, panel discussions, internships, and more. Tickets are $150/each.

Mac N Cheese Festival

  • The Mac N Cheese Festival is an event of the Friends of Templeton Elders, an organization which supports a Senior Community Center and Food Pantry. Proceeds from the Mac N Cheese Festival will help with the completion of soup kitchen to feed the vulnerable in the Templeton Community. The Mac N Cheese Festival will feature a Super Hero theme, crafters, vendors, and easy listening music.

UMass Memorial Foundation Cancer Walk & Run

  • Since 1999, thousands of people come together in September on the campus shared by UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial to show their commitment to the fight against cancer. The money raised supports adult and pediatric cancer research and care, and clinical trials of new potentially lifesaving therapies taking place right here in Central Massachusetts.Learn more.

Operation Service 9th Annual Trees for Troops



  • Date: Thursday, November 29 through Saturday December 21

  • Location: The Gardener's Spot (66 Granite Street, Leominster, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor.

  • Operation Service is a local organization supporting the men, women and families of the US Military. Each year, the organization provides free Christmas trees through their partner, The Gardener’s Spot to US Military members (active and veteran). Approximately 600 trees will be given during the program.
