Merrimack Repertory Theatre

  • Date: Season runs September to May

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor for the Military and Educator Discount Program

  • Founded in 1979, Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is a vital cultural, educational, and economic resource for the communities located in Lowell which produces vibrant, contemporary plays that explore what it means to be alive today, and contributes to the advancement of American theatre through the production of new works of literary merit, support of emerging and nationally-recognized artists, and the building of new audiences. MRT has served more than one million theatergoers with more than 230 productions, including 20 world premieres and 37 regional premieres. The seven-show season runs from September through May, and the intimate 279-seat theatre is easily accessible to all.  Learn more about MRT's 2019-2020 season here.


Nashoba Youth Football and Cheer

  • Date: programs run throughout the year

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor.

  • Nashoba Youth Football and Cheerleading supports 125 students in grades K-8 participating in football and cheerleading in the towns of Lancaster, Bolton and Stow. With the NYFC being 100% volunteer run, donations like Workers are used to help fund program fees for those with financial difficulties and college scholarships for former athletes.


Marching Spartans (the Oakmont Overlook Music Program)

  • Date: various marching band activities throughout the year

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor.

  • The Marching Spartans is the marching band of the Oakmont and Overlook schools in Ashburham. Participants practice two times per week as well as participate in games and competitions in various parts of the state. Workers donation helps fund transportation costs along with additional expenses like replacement uniforms.


Townsend-Ashby Youth Soccer Association

  • Date: Two Seasons run each year

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud Championship Sponsor.

  • Townsend-Ashby Youth Soccer Association supports 700 children ages 3-19 years old in organized youth soccer



Glenn's Friends Against ALS Open Skate

  • Date: Friday, January 31

  • Time: 7:30 - 8:30 PM

  • Location: Wallace Civic Center (1000 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor.

  • ALSA and Workers are partnering with Glenn's Friends vs ALS to put on both a free Open Skate for the community on Friday, January 31 at the Wallace Civic Center at Fitchburg State University and then the Glenn Roberts Memorial Hockey Games the next day on Saturday, February 1 at the Wallace Civic Center. (Note: These games will feature Fitchburg State University vs. Worcester State University at 4pm and Fitchburg High School vs. North Middlesex at 6:30pm).



Cabin Fever Winter Festival

  • Date: Saturday, February 1

  • Location: Bolton Town Common (715 Main Street Bolton)

  • The Cabin Fever Winter Festival is a first-of-its-kind fundraiser, created to raise funds to meet the needs of our three towns’ local programs and service projects.This Winter Festival is designed to bring the residents of Stow, Bolton, Lancaster, and the neighboring communities together for a day of fun and fellowship. Chase away the winter blues with samples of award winning chili, beer/wine tasting, hot chocolate, s'mores, and a variety of fun and unique games and activities. Learn more here.



Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce 19th Annual Taste of Nashoba

  • Date: Tuesday, March 24

  • Time: 5:30 - 8 PM

  • Location:Lawrence Academy (Stone Athletic Center, Groton, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud Executive Chef sponsor.

  • Celebrating its 19th year, the Taste of Nashoba has been an annual event showcasing the best restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and breweries from the region to thousands of attendees. Tickets can be purchased online for $30 until March 23.



ACA- Pocalypse

  • Date: Thursday, April 9 - Friday, April 10

  • Location: Chelmsford High School (200 Richardson Road, North Chelmsford, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud Forte Level Sponsor.

  • Join students and families in Chelmsford for the Association of Chelmsford A Cappella's annual fundraiser, ACA-Pocalypse: two-night a cappella concert, including a day filled with master classes/workshops for all of the student groups performing


ALS Walk Worcester

  • Date: Saturday, April 25

  • Time: 11 AM

  • Location: Foley Stadium (305 Chandler St. Worcester, MA)

  • The ALS Walk Worcester raises more than $100,000 each year to drive bold and urgent innovation as we march toward a treatment and cure of ALS. Local walks provide funding for education, support groups, advocacy and care. Join the Walk here.



The Arc of Opportunities' Take Me Out to the Ball Game

  • Date: Friday, May 1

  • Location: John R . Tata Auditorium (Leominster City Hall, 25 West Street, Leominster, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud Grand Slam Sponsor.

  • The Arc of Opportunity's Take Me Out to the Ball Game event is one of the primary fundraisers for the Family Support Program which supports over 400 individuals with disabilities and their families in Central MA. Check back for more details!


Regional Environmental Council's Spring Garden Festival & Plant Sale

  • Date: Saturday, May 24

  • Time: 9 AM - 3 PM

  • Location: Worcester Common Oval (455 Main Street, Worcester, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor.

  • The REC Spring Garden Festival & Plant Sale happens each spring on the Worcester Common Oval, behind City Hall. More than 1,500 attendees are invited to purchase vegetables, herbs and flowers for your home garden & stay to enjoy live music and performances, children's activities, food trucks and more! Come for the seedlings, stay for the fun! Check back for more details.




Pages for Peace Opening Reception

  • Date: Friday, June 26

  • Time: 6 - 8 PM

  • Location: Fitchburg Art Museum (185 Elm Street, Fitchburg, MA)

  • WCU's Involvement: WCU is a proud sponsor.

  • Join WCU in viewing Big Book: Pages for Peace, a 12 year project supported by more than 500 students and community efforts from the Groton Dunstable area. Pages for Peace is a 1,000 page book measuring 12 ft by 20 ft when open and contains heartfelt letters, photographs, poems and more. The book has been exhibited at the United Nations, JFK Library and more. This summer, the Book will be on display at Fitchburg Art Museum. Check back for more details.
